This book can deeply influence you to move from complexity to simplicity and is very welcome change to redirect us to lead simple life. Life is simple but not easy. The author has asked us to focus on one thing at a time to get effective result. In this book the author has discussed following 6 Principles :

Principle I: Set Limitations-
By setting limitations we must choose the essential. So in everything you do, learn to set limitations. The issue now a days is that we try to do many things and end result is we achieve mediocre results. So the author states that if we limit the number of things that we do we can enhance our quality of work.

Principle II:Choose the Essential-

The author states that “By choosing the essential we create great impact with minimal resources . Always choose the essential to maximize your time and energy. The abundance does not guarantee quality results.” A person should have discretion to know what is essential and what is not essential.

Principle III:Simplify-

It is time tested theory that more the complexity is involved in any task we will not achieve our desired goals and objectives. If we simplify our life it will be more easy to live.

Principle IV: Focus-
The author states that “Focus is the your important tool in becoming more effective”. Multitasking ultimately bring us down. The author has enumerated various  Habits for Good Life such as set your three Most Important Tasks 3 MITs each morning, do single task at a time and many more.

At any given moment many people focus on various tasks. Hence the author suggests that make a list of  3 Simple Project List at a time. Create a short list of 4 or 5 priorities of your life and Slow down and enjoy every task.

The author is advocate of having your own Morning Routine and Evening Routine. He has given many choices to help us select this routine.

Principle V: Create Habits-
The author also reiterates that a Single Habit can be formed in 30 Days.

Principle VI: Start Small-
This is the final and most important principle. It usually happens that whenever we try to make a change we always try to implement all the changes at a single shot which leads to ultimate failure. The author suggests that make a small change at a time. Try to change one habit at a time. Once the habit is ingrained in us within 30 Days then go for second habit and so on.

The book is very lucid about how to make change and focus on only few things which matter to us instead of chasing after all the things and achieving none to our satisfaction.
